Last month was the hottest June ever recorded worldwide and the fourth consecutive month that the combined global land and sea temperature records have been broken, according to the US government’s climate data centre.

The figures released last night by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) suggest that 2010 is now on course to be the warmest year since records began in 1880.

Thought for the day

Tech, Uncategorized 1 Comment »

It’s Tuesday and I am setting up the House of Solar web site again . Of course I was taking a short “break” to check out YouTube ( one of the best ways to waste time in the world ) . I ran across this video and thought I would share.  I feel that this song comes from a time when priorities were a bit different . We seem to live in a world where everybody is fighting over natural resources in the name of political ideology . It makes me consider what I can do TODAY to move the world in a more positive direction. Take a moment to listen to somebody that continues to work towards that goal.

Back in the game

I have been on the sidelines doing my bit here and there waiting for Citizenre to pick up steam. I am now going back “Online ” as the company has closed on 4.5 million in funding and is opening several markets in Southern California. I know there are many of you that have been waiting also and  I thought I would outline the opportunity that we currently have .

Citizenre has made a couple of steps in the last couple of months that not everybody knows about .

1) Citizenre now requires all Eco’s to send in a W-9 form to have acess to the back office . If you have not completed your forms you can find them at the login page at www.powur.com

2) Citizenre just closed on 4.5 Million in Funding . This will now allow the company to qucikly expand in California then on to other states.

How can you participate?

The facts are that Citizenre is only installing in Southern California and that is where the opportunity lies. I have been busy building a team in our workable areas so that I can capture some of the installs going in. I currently have 10 and more in the cue.

Another opportunity is getting involved in the companies direct sales. We have has small teams going Door2 Door for the last few months to guarantee a flow of customers in the areas we need. The weekend of July 24th we are going to have a training session to certify Eco’s to sell D2D. Being face to face with the customer to explain out offer as well as having the opportunity to look at their house has generated $1000+ checks for Eco installs. If you are interested in making some money NOW and growing your business click here for more information.

This may not be the right time for everybody to get involved but I know there are more than a handful of Eco’s that understand the “Early is better” philosophy of business ( really funny to say after 3 years yet no less true).

At a minimum , keep your eye on the news and the House of Solar web page, above that check in with your up-line for next best steps for you to take in closing some solar sales.

SIDE NOTE > We recently created a strategic partnership with Sungevity to install out customers systems. My two cents on that are our customer bases differ greatly and because of the credit score qualifications only a mere fraction of the sales are being closed. I have personally decided to hold the remainder of my FRA’s for Citizenre to begin installing in these areas.

Other than that , I hope everybody is doing well in their lives and stay tuned to the House of Solar blog.

Best Idea Yet for Financing Solar on your Roof
…and the Feds want to shut it down!

Now that some 22 states have embraced PACE – the municipal financing mechanism under which homeowners can install renewable energy or energy efficiency assets with few upfront costs, and with repayment based on property tax assessments – you’d have thought its obvious popularity would have spread joy to all quarters.

It hasn’t, and perhaps you can help.

One quarter the joy hasn’t reached is the Federal Housing Finance Agency (FHFA), the regulator of government mortgage corporations Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac.  According to a statement it issued on July 6, the agency ‘has determined that (PACE programs) present significant safety and soundness concerns that must be addressed.’  In urging state and local governments to reconsider these programs, FHFA has effectively brought the whole PACE movement to a halt.

Citizenre is Installing Solar and Paying Eco Commissions.

Dear Eco:

Things are rolling over here at Citizenre and we want you to be part of it. We are installing solar systems in our pilot city and are about to begin in our second city – plus we have a strategic alliance that enables us to provide installations in much of California.

Now we need to hear from you. Many Ecos have been waiting to see commissions paid before they re-engaged. That day is now. Are you still on the Team? If the answer is Yes, let us know.

To confirm that you are still active, we must receive a Direct Deposit Authorization and a signed W-9 form. This is required by the IRS and is simple to send in. Login to your back-office and visit the “Resources” section to find the form and directions (if you forgot your password, click on the link “I forgot my login information” and enter your email address. The system will send you a new password).

As an alternative, you can simply click on the link below to download the forms immediately:
http://www.citizenre.net/extras/downloads/w9dd_package.pdf

Please return these documents immediately. If we don’t receive them in 15 days (by May 24), your position will be flagged as inactive and you will be locked out of the back office until you complete this step. You will not be deleted from the system as long as you act within 180 days. But if you don’t act fast, you could lose commissions.

Since we can now place PV in much of California, we want to reach California customers immediately. If we do not hear from you in 15 days, your California customers will become available to the first active Eco in your support Team.

If you re-engage within 180 days, you can still benefit. For each transferred customer who installs solar through Citizenre or our partner, you will receive $100 for originating that customer. Any customers that have not had, or are not in the process of having, a solar system placed on their rooftop can be reclaimed within 180 days if you re-activate.

If we do not receive your W-9 within 180 days, per our Policies you can be removed permanently from the system and you will receive no compensation from any prior work. We don’t want that to happen, so act now.

I want to personally thank all of our dedicated Ecos who have stayed with us on our adventure to bring renewable energy to the masses.

Thanks,

A palindrome of life

A palindrome reads the same backward as forward. This video reads the exact opposite backward as forward. Not only does it read the opposite, the meaning is the exact opposite.
This is only a 1 minute, 44 second video and it is brilliant.   Make sure you read as well as listen…forward and backward.
This is a video that was submitted in a contest by a 20-year old.   The contest was titled “u @ 50″  by  AARP. This video won second place. When they showed it, everyone in the room was awe-struck and broke into spontaneous applause.  So simple and yet so brilliant. Take a minute and watch it.

As a side note , I like everybody else am waiting to Citizenre to move forward. I receive daily emails about the status of the company checking to see if anything has changed over the last couple of years. There seems to be new possibilities that come up e very week but the company has stayed in the ideation stage. Is that going to change ? We all have to wait and see what results are created.

When we do launch , we will be the ones to launch the company into the solar lead.

Now Hear This -Bill Moyers on the environment

Bill Moyers speaks his mind on Bush-brand environmental destruction and more
By Amanda Griscom

26 Aug 2003
Bill Moyers is best known as the broadcast journalist who, for more than 20 years, has brought the public frank, soul-searching, and sometimes frightening examinations of — well, of almost everything under the sun. On air, he’s equally comfortable discussing politics or poetry, scriptures or science.

Bill Moyers

Bill Moyers isn’t pulling punches.

Photo: PBS.

Born in Oklahoma in 1934 and raised in Texas, Moyers has had a highly celebrated and peripatetic career that has included stints as a Baptist minister, deputy director of the Peace Corps in the Kennedy administration, and press secretary to President Johnson. Moyers later became publisher of the New York daily Newsday, an analyst and commentator on CBS and NBC news, and a cofounder, with his wife Judith Davidson, of Public Affairs Television, where he produced series ranging from “God and Politics” to “Joseph Campbell and the Power of Myth.”

Having racked up more than 30 Emmy Awards during his television career, Moyers is now the host and producer of the Friday night PBS series “NOW with Bill Moyers.” He is also one of the few TV news and culture journalists who believe that there are still plenty of viewers who want to think and learn. At “NOW,” Moyers has focused with increasing intensity on the Bush administration’s environmental record. Since his show launched in January 2002, Moyers has produced more than 20 reports on environmental subjects ranging from mountaintop-removal mining to the industry backgrounds of Bush’s key political appointees. This Friday at 9 p.m. EST, he’ll put the Bush record in a larger context, airing an interview with award-winning scientist David Suzuki, who believes the global environment is in its final moments of sustainability.

Grist tracked Moyers down at his office to discuss environmental policy rollbacks, the ecological concerns that he says “burn in his consciousness,” and the world he wants to leave for his grandchildren.

arctic melt

question In the year and a half since the launch of your PBS program “NOW,” you have done extensive reporting on the Bush administration’s environmental record. At a time when most news outlets have focused on war and recession, you and your team have been among the few journalists who’ve consistently taken a hard look at these policy rollbacks. What has been motivating you?

answer The facts on the ground. I’m a journalist, reporting the evidence, not an environmentalist pressing an agenda. The Earth is sending us a message and you don’t have to be an environmentalist to read it. The Arctic ice is melting. The Arctic winds are balmy. The Arctic Ocean is rising. Scientists say that in the year 2002 — the second-hottest on record — they saw the Arctic ice coverage shrink more than at any time since they started measuring it. Every credible scientific study in the world says human activity is creating global warming. In the face of this evidence, the government in Washington has declared war on nature. They have placed religious and political dogma over the facts.
